About Lumen & Shadow

Lumen & Shadow is a puzzle-platformer for one player with two characters. Lumen is safe in the light and Shadow is safe in the dark. Switch between them and use levers, mirrors, lifts and light beams to get both to their exits, across 60 rooms in ten worlds.

How to play

• Switch between Lumen and Shadow at any time. Both must reach their own exit marker to clear the room.
• Stay too long in the wrong light and a character fades, then returns to their last safe spot.
• Each world adds a new mechanic, from levers and torches to prisms that split beams.
• Each room gives up to 3 stars: solve it, find its memory fragment and finish with no fades. Find all five fragments in a world to open its bonus room.

Controls

• Computer: A D or ← → to move, W or Space to jump, E to use, Tab or Q to switch character, R restart, H hint, P pause.
• Phone or tablet: move, jump, use and switch buttons on screen.

Worlds

Ten worlds of five rooms plus a bonus room: Awakening, The Old City, The Undergrowth, The Machine, Eclipse, Crystal Caves, Storm Spire, The Foundry, Prism Palace and Dawn.

Boosts: Hint Scroll, Rescue Charm, Safe Aura and Fragment Compass. The shop also has character skins, upgrades, trails and colour themes. The Memories journal collects the story fragments you find.

What happens if a character fades?

They return to their last safe spot. Fades cost you the no-fade star, not the room.
